Description & Facts: This is a tango from the archive of Mr. Marco Capurro, a gentleman of Genoa ( Italy) that transferred in mp3 a lot of 78rpm of his father. It is a slow a romantic melody and the well marked rhythm could be a little "torment" and treating of tango could be easily considered as love affliction, i would imagine a young italian civil servant transferred in Italian african colony, far from his love, and far from the chance of dance some tangos ! I found no references about this tango, there is a list of old recordings with Tormento by Italian Daniele Serra of 1927, and for years and style could be this one. Images are from Eritrean capital city Asmara, that in 1927 was the main city of italian Colonyof Eritrea; a lot of public and private buildings of Asmara are the best and preserved example of italian architecture called Modernism typical of years 1925-1940, for some aspect similar to Decò style. Some buildings are in more classical roman style, as the church, others are masterpiece of the style as the FIAT building ( the major italian car producer) in the presentation and at 2:00. Not so lucky the building of Alfa Romeo...... at that time the other car producer, now "owned" by FIAT.
