Chicago Lake Front Bike Path Father Daughter Ride |
Description & Facts: You will hear my cell phone ring while I was riding bikes with my daughter (who insists I use her You-Tube pen name, Marley Patterson) along the lake front the Sunday after the fourth of July. A little later, you hear the message tone. I did not find out later that I had been publicly outed on page 4 of the Sunday Chicago Sun-Times. The phone call was Laurie delivering the news--"Remember that letter you wrote to Michael Sneed defending pole dancing as a legitimate hobby--well, she printed it in her column. It's in the paper!" In her column, she had mentioned that an accused accomplice in a serious gun crime was a pole dance instructor--implying that there was something seedy about pole dancing. I wrote a vigorous defense of the sport, defending all its practitioners--from strippers to housewives. She printed excerpts in the Sunday column... I've been pushing my daughter to spend more time outdoors enjoying sports. The Chicago lake front has a great bike trail. It is onr of the city's premier attractions. Please visit our city and ride this great trail. You can rent bikes at Navy Pier very cheaply, come back a few hours later and enjoy a few drinks at the many bars along the dock. Recorded on July 06, 2008 using a Flip Video camcorder.
