Description & Facts: Weather wasn't a problem Wednesday evening as space shuttle Endeavour blasted off at 6:36 pm on a mission to the International Space Station. NASA officials only encountered a minor problem about one hour before launch with the access hatch, but the issue was fixed and the shuttle was cleared for launch. Hundreds of people, including tourists from around the world, made their way to Spaceview Park in Cape Canaveral to watch the launch in person.
