InterContinental The Barclay New York City

Description & Facts: Among New York City hotels, InterContinental The Barclay is a classic choice for chic and sophisticated travelers. Situated in Midtown East, The Barclay is near posh Park Avenue neighborhoods and within two blocks of entertainment at Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center. The old-world atmosphere at the hotel once drew iconic Hollywood figures, like Marlon Brando and Bette Davis, and classic elegance still pervades the lobby and rooms today. A stately gray limestone and granite facade distinguishes the Barclay at its Park Avenue and 48th Street location. Inside, the hotel lobby is done in a grand American style, with Colonial furniture that once belonged to Americas first president, George Washington. Elaborate flower arrangements, gold and marble accents and stately seating areas add to the ambience. Spanning 14 floors, the Barclays accommodations include 600 Standard and Superior guest rooms and 86 suites. Guest rooms are ornately decorated, with brocade draperies, deep wood furnishings, and plush bed linens. Toiletries from London company Floris are found in bathrooms. Each Executive Suites has a bedroom separate from the living room, while Junior Suites have integrated sleeping and sitting areas. All rooms and suites have mini bars and safes. Complimentary Internet access is available in the lobby and the Barclay Bar
