Description & Facts: After I witness a magical sunrise off the Staten Island Ferry, I walk the Brooklyn Bridge for the first time in the ten years I've lived here. I figure out how to shoot myself with a 50mm lens. It takes a few tries, but once I get the focus right, I stare into and, eventually, talk into a lens that is real darn close to my face. If I fear anything, I fear a camera in my face. Maybe because I'm so used to hiding behind one. Or maybe it magnifies every pore and wrinkle on my face.
