The journey starts on the road towards Koło and a sight that is quite common on the Polish roads - that of young ladies standing at the edge. Girls, known as Tirówki, allegedly because they serve the needs of TIR drivers although as one comment points out, most of their clients are people in passenger cars. Prostitution is legal in Poland, like most countries it is only illegal to live off 'immoral earnings'. As such prostitutes are a quite a common site although perhaps not as much as they used to be, particularly on the international routes in places where the traffic is not moving too fast. The countryside around Koło and south towards Grabów is especially attractive in summer as the harvest is being brought in. However it also holds the Chelmno nad Ner death camp where the Jewish population of central Poland was murdered. This film shows part of the Chelmno nad Ner death camp but very little is shown.
