Households living at the doorstep of the National Park provide ecotourism services to foreign and domestic tourists offering the opportunity to homestay in traditional wooden homes, and in the future, provide biking, kayaking and trekking services. Explore the Countryside Visitors have the opportunity to explore the quiet side of the Phong Nha area, on the little visited western spur of the Ho Chi Minh Highway. In the background are the limestone peaks of Phong Nha Ke Bang, and within walking distance is the Chay Lap gate of the National Park where the Dark Cave and endangered langurs may be viewed from across the Chay river. Nearby is the newly-opened Nuoc Mooc Springs. Chay Lap is a community right on the banks of the Chay River, and visitors can leisurely explore an authentic Vietnamese farming community. Visitors can share traditional country-style Kinh dishes served family-style, prepared by experienced cooks in the community. They can also help in the farmwork, if they wish, plant trees, go boating or just swim in the mystical blue waters of the Chay River.
