Bringing down the cattle to Rinn - Almabtrieb in Rinn

On September 11th 2011 the farmers from and around Rinn (near Innsbruck) started to bring the cattle down from the mountain pastures. For this event every cow is getting decorated with a traditional headdress and a cowbell before they arrive back to the stable. On this weekend people also celebrated the Harvest Festival to thank for the good yield. You can see these kind of events every year all over tyrol! September 2011 führten die Bauern aus Rinn und Umgebung das Vieh von den Almen wieder zurück ins Tal. Für dieses Spektakel werden die Rinder mit traditionellem Kopfschmuck und schönen Kuhglocken geschmückt, bevor sie wieder den heimischen Stall betreten. An diesem Wochenende feierten die Landwirte auch das Erntedankfest, um sich für die reiche Ernte zu bedanken. Sie können Almabtriebe jedes Jahr aufs Neue in ganz Tirol bewundern. Vielleicht sind Sie ja Ende nächsten Sommers auch mit dabei?

The intention of this action is to make the sense of regional self esteem, the feeling of togetherness and the joy of the community a real experience for everyone.
